After the Test series, it’s time for some T20I cricket between South Africa and West Indies. They engage in a five-match T20I series starting with the first T20I on Saturday, June 26. All five matches will be played at the National Cricket Stadium, St George’s, Grenada. The second T20I will be played a day later on Sunday, June 27.

Both teams have played on 10 occasions so far with South Africa winning six games while West Indies four. However, the current team is almost unbeatable in the T20I format. Meanwhile, the predicted weather for the game in Grenada is not a good one.

The past few days almost had 70 percent rain and this is what keeps the game hanging in the balance. A rain interruption might also result in a shortened game. The series starts preparations for both teams for the T20 World Cup later this year.

The T20I format suits the West Indies style of cricket. With many of their players playing franchise T20 cricket all around the world, this format is the best suited for their players. The presence of Kieron Pollard, Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo, and Andre Russell makes this side an almost unbeatable one. It’s the perfect opportunity to avenge their Test series loss with a T20I series win in the presence of the stalwarts.

South Africa have a tough five-match series. coming up. They have a relatively inexperienced squad. when it comes to the Windies. Some of their Test regulars have been sent home while a few others are unavailable. Dwaine Pretorius has been removed from the equation by Covid-19. Wiaan Mulder has been retained from the Test squad as Pretorius’ replacement and Beuran Hendricks added as cover. The availability of Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi, Quinton De Kock, and David Miller keeps the side almost on par with the Windies.
