World record alert: Ayush Badoni, Priyansh Arya rewrite history with highest-ever T20 partnership

South Delhi Superstarz batters Ayush Badoni and Priyansh Arya stole the limelight with their sensational performance with the bat in the game against North Delhi Strikers in DPL 2024. The game between the two teams is taking place at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

The game between South Delhi Superstarz and North Delhi Strikers saw a feast of runs by the South Delhi batters. Skipper Ayush Badoni, along with Priyansh Arya, came up with a humongous batting effort that made everyone go gaga about their performance and praise them for their effort.

Both Ayush Badoni and Priyansh Arya slammed a magnificent century and made the opposition bowlers look clueless. The duo didn't put a foot wrong in their innings and created a massive record in the history of the shortest format of the game, stitching the highest partnership in the T20s.

Ayush Badoni and Priyansh Arya slammed 286 runs for the second wicket during the Delhi Premier League (DPL) T20. They broke the record of Japan’s batting duo of Lachlan Yamamoto-Lake (134) and Kendel Kadowaki-Fleming (109). They had added 258 runs for the first wicket during the T20I match against China in Mong Kok on February 15, 2024

The sensational partnership between Badoni and Priyansh Arya helped the South Delhi team post a gigantic total of 308 runs on the board. This notably is the second-highest total in the history of the T20s. The highest total in the T20 belongs to Nepal, as they slammed 314 runs against Mongolia in September 2023

Ayush Badoni and Priyansh Arya shattered individual records as well after their terrific centuries

On the individual front, Badoni 165 runs from just 55 balls. The right-hander during his innings as many as 19 sixes, which is a record for most sixes hammered by an Indian batter in a T20 innings. Not only this he also went on to shatter another massive record.

Badoni's innings of 165 is also the highest score by an Indian in the shortest format of the game. He broke Shreyas Iyer's record of 147 runs, which he scored for Mumbai against Sikkim in Indore on February 21, 2019.

Priyansh Arya, on the other hand, also played a sensational innings of 120 runs in 50 deliveries. During his innings, he entered himself in the elite list as he became just the second Indian to hit six sixes in an over. He achieved the feat during the over of Manan Bhardwaj.

Priyansh equalled Yuvraj Singh’s record. The former India all-rounder was the first Indian batter to hit six sixes in an over. He achieved the feat during the T20 World Cup 2007 match played between India and England at Kingsmead in Durban on September 19, 2007.
