The 32-year-old Pakistan National Cricket Team batsman Ahmed Shehzad, who is currently not in the scheme of things of the national team, has launched an attack on the Pakistan batters for their poor shot selections in the second Test of the two-match series against Bangladesh National Cricket Team.

Pakistan batters have been quite poor in the second Test against Bangladesh at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. In the first innings, they managed to score just 274 runs in 85.1 overs, with only three players, Shan Masood, Saim Ayub, and Salman Agha, hitting half-centuries.

Meanwhile, in the second innings, when Pakistan were in desperate need of runs, the batters once again failed to deliver. Only two players, Mohammad Rizwan and Agha Salman, touched the 40-run mark, and the hosts were bundled out for 172 in 46.4 overs.

In a video shared on his official X handle, Ahmed Shehzad mocked Pakistan batters, saying that the Bangladesh bowlers made them dance to their tunes. He then lashed out at the batters for playing T20 shots in Test cricket and not learning from their mistakes.

“Bangladeshi bowlers strike back. And the Bangladeshi bowlers have once again made the Pakistani batsmen dance to their tunes. The same shot selections that we have been talking about. The T20 shots—we have seen them once again. The bat of the batsman is going so far away from his bat.

"In T20 cricket or in T10 cricket as well, when a player gets out like this, the coaches ask that this was too much. You are getting out by hitting these shots in Test cricket. You are not learning from your mistakes. Maybe you don’t have the charm or the skills. Or maybe we are making a mistake by putting expectations on you. Or this nation is making a mistake by putting expectations on you. That you are playing with their emotions like this,” Ahmed Shehzad said in a video shared on X.

This means that this is not a fluke - Ahmed Shehzad on Bangladesh's dominance over Pakistan

Ahmed Shehzad further exposed the reality of Pakistan cricket, saying that the level of the team has hit rock bottom and the dominance of Bangladesh is not a fluke. Ahmed Shehzad said:

“The Bangladesh cricket Test team has come here. They have defeated you in the first match and made history. After that, they are dominating in the second match as well. This means that this is not a fluke. When you lose to Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, or Ireland, these things are not a fluke. This is the reality of Pakistan cricket. You have brought Pakistan cricket to this level.”

Ahmed Shehzad also blasted the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and put the blame on them for the downfall of the team. According to Ahmed Shehzad, the PCB failed to make bold decisions, and they tried their level best to distract the fans, but now they have been exposed.

“I don’t call the players responsible for this. The PCB is equally responsible as the players. Because some things were right in front of us. We had to take some decisions. But we did the same thing that we do every time. We tried to distract the public by talking on TV. After that, we thought that Bangladesh cricket will come. We will definitely defeat them. When we defeat them, the public’s anger will cool down. Then when will we start the Pakistan Cup? Your entire plan has been reversed and has fallen on your face."

At stumps on day 4, the Bangladesh National Cricket Team were at 42/0 and were just 143 runs away from a historic Test series win.
