Former cricketers Yuvraj Singh, Adam Gilchrist, and Michael Vaughan made their predictions for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. India and Australia will be locking horns with each other in the five-match Test series later this year over three months.

The hype for the Test series between India and Australia has been on. This is because they are currently the two best teams in the world. Both the cricketing giants have engaged in high-class battles over the years. With five games this around, it will altogether be a different kind of competition.

Cricket experts in Yuvraj Singh, Adam Gilchrist, and Michael Vaughan talked about the Test series between India and Australia. The trio previewed the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in the Club Prairie Fire YouTube Podcast and made their predictions for the five games.

Michael Vaughan and Adam Gilchrist were on the same page in terms of predictions for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. The former England and the Australian player backed the hosts to win the series by the margin of 3-2 as they believed the hosts would bounce back, having lost the last two series at home.

But Yuvraj Singh wasn't convinced by their predictions. The Indian legend believes that the Rohit Sharma-led side will win their third consecutive series on the trot in Australia. He backed Team India to win the series by the margin of 3-2.

India have been pretty consistent on their last two tours to Australia. Team India displayed a terrific performance and scripted history by winning two back-to-back series. However, in the final of the ICC World Test Championship 2023, it was Australia who emerged victorious.

If they prepare well and stick to each other, they can win - Yuvraj Singh on India's chances for BGT 2024-25

Yuvraj Singh also talked about how India made a strong statement after getting out for 36 in the first Test against Australia during the last tour. He feels that young players prepare well for the challenge and also admitted that beating Australia in Australia won't be easy. But as per him, if India prepares well they can win. He added:

"India were 30 all-out on the previous tour and they won the series 2-1 from there. I would have never thought India could 2-1 after losing like that in the first Test. The current generation doesn't think too much about the opposition and I thought the preparation of the younger guys was really good when they went to Australia compared to when we toured back in the day.

"Beating Australia twice in Australia is quite big, especially considering our history when we never won in Australia. I am sure they will be prepared but it won't be easy beating Australia in Australia. It's like winning a World Cup but it's not impossible. If they prepare well and stick to each other, they can win."

Australia's last Test series win against India came at home in the 2014-15 Border Gavaskar Trophy and they would want the same result this time around.
