17-Year-Old Stabbed To Death In Kota Over Cricket Game

In an unfortunate incident, a teenager lost his life after a fight took place while he was playing cricket with the accused. The deceased was a 17-year old student from Mau city in Uttar Pradesh. He was preparing to crack medical entrance exam (NEET) for admission in medical college in a premier coaching institute in Kota city.

However, his journey came to a heartbreaking end as he was on Saturday evening stabbed to death in area falling under the Mahavir Nagar police station. Prior to the fatal incident, a scuffle had allegedly broken out between the accused and the deceased over playing cricket in Onkarashwer Park in Mahavir Nagar III.

As per report in DNA, the police arrested the accuse within an hour of the crime. The court order the accused to three days of police remand. The deceased’s body was also handed over to the family members today afternoon after postmortem.

The deceased’s name is Atul Kumar Singh (17), sub-inspector at Mahavir Nagar police station Ramswroop Meena said. The deceased student had passed class 12 and had been preparing for NEET in a coaching institute in Kota for last three years, the cop said.

“An unexpected scuffle with a local 20-year-old school dropout over playing cricket led to the murder of the coaching student,” he said.

“The deceased last evening was playing cricket with his friends in Onkarashwer park in Mahavir Nagar III when around 6 o’clock a 20-year-old school dropout identified as Rahul Bhati reached the park and pulled out a knife from his pocket to bully the group of students playing cricket,” the cop added.

The cop revealed that Bhati directed the group of students to allow him to bat a few balls. But he could not hit any of those deliveries and still was not willing to leave the crease. This was when Atul Kumar Singh from the students’ group approached him. When Atul Kumar Singh asked for the bat, Bhati took out the knife from his pocket and stabbed it into left side of Atul’s chest. The knife attack punctured the deceased’s heart and he collapsed on the ground. Atul was immediately rushed to medical college hospital but the doctors declared him as brought dead.
