Stand-up comedian Vikram Sathaye’s show ‘What the Duck’ was a huge hit in its first season. With the cricketers revealing fascinating anecdotes and insightful stories, the show received an overwhelming response and the second season has also started in a similar manner. After Ravichandran Ashwin stole the opening episode of the show with some brilliant stories, it was Rohit Sharma‘s turn to light up the show and the India opener did not disappoint.

Ravichandran Ashwin was the first guest of the second season.

The 30-year old revealed a hilarious story which took place during India’s tour of Sri Lanka in 2015 when Sri Lanka’s famous fan Percy Abeysekera kissed Ajinkya Rahane.

“Uncle Percy approached the team in the dressing room. While all the players were sitting together, he proclaimed his love for India and began to boast of having good knowledge of the Indian cricket team,” Rohit recalled.

“When he approached us we realized his intentions and pushed Ajinkya closer to Percy, who then kissed Ajinkya on his cheeks, while we made a video and circulated on social media,” Rohit added.

Rohit, known as the sleeping beauty of the team, further justified his love for sleep in a hilarious manner,

“No doubt I like to sleep, but the actual reason is that I think about myself and my strategies for the next game in order to take India to victory,” he said.

“They (teammates) are the ones who sleep off without thinking about the game and that is why they get up on time. I think about my game the entire night, which is why I cannot wake up early in the morning,” he added.

Rohit Sharma is currently in England with Team India for the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy. The right-handed batsman had endured a terrible six months on the sidelines due to injury before returning to action in the Indian Premier League where he led Mumbai Indians to a record third title. And playing his first ODI after injury in the Champions Trophy, the Mumbai star hit the ground running straightaway, scoring a magnificent 91 against Pakistan before hitting 78 in a losing cause against Sri Lanka. In the following game against South Africa, he managed only 12 and would be keen to score big in the semifinal against Bangladesh on Thursday (June 15).
