Team India has been in terrific form in the recent past. Their performance was simply superb in the Rainbow Nation. Captain Virat Kohli has been in top-notch form, and it proved to be a huge difference between the two teams.

India lost the opening two Tests to surrender the series. However, they made a dramatic comeback to pocket the Johannesburg Test. It was the much-needed morale booster for India which reflected in their performance in the limited overs leg,

With the tour of South Africa done and dusted, India will now travel to Sri Lanka for a T20I tri-series. The Nidahas Trophy is slated to start from 6th March.

However, most of the senior cricketers have been rested from the series, and vice-captain Rohit Sharma will be leading the side in Virat Kohli’s absence.

Former skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has also been rested alongside frontline seamers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah.

It will be interesting to see how many changes India employ in their playing XI. Dinesh Karthik has been included as the wicket-keeper. Youngster Rishabh Pant is also there is the squad. Given his power hitting abilities might just put him ahead of Karthik at least for the opening clash.

Earlier he was part of the squad but never donned the wicket-keeping duties. There will be quite a few new faces in the squad. KL Rahul might well make a return to the playing XI especially given the fact there is no Rahane on the team sheet.

Hardik Pandya has also been rested from the squad given the workload he had been going through.

In all likelihood, India will field a team which will be a whole lot different to which they had placed in South Africa. Washington Sundar and Rishabh Pant are the youngsters who will be looking for this opportunity if given a chance in the Playing XI.
