Dhoni Must Play Every Game from Hereon if he Sees Himself in 2019 World Cup - Ajay Jadeja

Former India cricketer, Ajay Jadeja feels MS Dhoni should play every game if the selectors want him to see in the final squad for the 2019 World Cup. Meanwhile, Zaheer Khan thinks on the same line.

The former pacer praised Dhoni by saying the veteran had given a lot to Indian cricket and his contribution shall not be forgotten. He feels Dhoni not only supports the Indian team with his batting capabilities but also with his experience on the field. MSD, moreover, provided support behind the stumps and has an excellent reflex.

It’s not gonna have any impact what so ever on the one day format for sure because the World Cup is the most important tournament. You have seen a kind of support which MS has been providing to the team not only with his game but also the other aspects of the game as well. You know the vast experience he has which will come very handy in the World Cup.” Zaheer Khan said.

However, the former India captain currently plays the white-ball format, as he eyes to make it big at the mega event in England. Though Dhoni retired from Tests in 2014, his valuable contributions on the pitch have helped India across remaining two formats.

Meanwhile, Khan is of the opinion that MS Dhoni would stay around until the 2019 World Cup and would help India put hands on glory.

“That’s what it looks like. He is probably gonna play till 2019 World Cup and not play after that because of he has already quit Test cricket. He is only playing the limited overs version I would have looked a little different from what Zaheer us saying because he is going to play 2019 World Cup especially with the form and debate and talk around it he is not in the same form everybody would like to see.” Ajay Jadeja said.

Furthermore, Ajay Jajeda feels MS Dhoni should play every possible match if the selectors want him to see in the playing XI for the next year’s World Cup. In addition to that, had MS would have played the Vijay Hazare Trophy for Jharkhand, he would have got some additional matches to practice his batting skill.

“You would want him to see as many games as he can. He dont has the opportunity to play too many games before the World Cup. If you wanting him to play the World Cup. You want him in form, you want him on top of his game and not struggling at that moment. If he could have played for Jharkhand, he would have to go there and played.” Jadeja concluded.

However, India will play three T20Is against Australia later this year following another five ODIs against New Zealand in 2019 before the 2019 World Cup in England. Meanwhile, it would be interesting to see what future is in store for MS Dhoni.
