Team India’s Test series against Australia has always been special for various reasons. The series between the two heavyweight teams have always entertained the fans in numerous ways. Be it on the field or off the ground, the players of either side haven’t backed out from involving in a duel either with the cricket gear or with the words. Termed Virat Kohli as The Donald Trump Of World Sport (in 2017)

There has always been a special relationship between Virat Kohli and Australia. Right from his initial days, Kohli has engaged himself in a duel with Australians, be it with the media or with their fans. However, his incredible rise in the game fetched him the respect from the Australian public and also became the role-model for their youngsters.

Coming to the topic, the incident took place when Australia toured Team India in 2017. They have bagged the victory in Pune but failed to make the most of the opportunity, as Team India clinched the series.

It was the series when Steven Smith’s brain-fade moment also took place as well. For the same, Virat Kohli has been pretty vocal in the press and termed Australians are cheaters. It certainly didn’t sit well with Australian media, who termed that Kohli hasn’t got the spirit.

Daily Telegraph’s first line of the report read, “Virat Kohli has become the Donald Trump of world sport”.

The report claimed – “Test captains, under the rules of the game, are supposed to be the flag-bearers for upholding the spirit of the game, yet the ICC has allowed the Indian captain to destroy one of the foundations on which the game has been played for more than a century.”

Ahead of the Test series against England, in a pre-match analysis, Australians tried to mimic Virat Kohli for his previous performance in England. Virat Kohli’s first visit to England hasn’t gone well, who failed to make the things happen for him.

Terming on the same, Australian media posted a picture of Virat Kohli edging the ball to slip cordon and termed it as ”Favourite shot of Virat Kohli in England”.

However, the Indian skipper answered all the critics astoundingly by finishing with 593 runs which were 240 runs more than the next highest (349 runs by Jos Buttler). He averaged 59.30 in that 5-match Test series as he struck two centuries and three fifties.

Labelled India as the Scaredy Bats (2018-19)

Just Ahead of the upcoming Test series, they once again came up with a dig at Team India. The Australian media has termed Team India as the Scaredy bats and also included the picture of Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar with a couple of fans.

The headline didn’t sit well with the notable journalist, who asked Australian media to stop behaving childishly. He feels that it has become a tiresome job to watch media mocking the visiting teams.

They labelled three different headlines for three pitches. For the first Test, they named ‘‘Scared of the night’‘, it indirectly meant that Team India has refused to play the day and night game at Adelaide with the pink ball.

For the Perth Test, they named ‘‘Scared of the Unknown”. As the new venue is set to host the game, Team India hasn’t had enough knowledge of the conditions of Perth, which they meant in that way.

And then, they termed, ‘‘Scared of the bounce’‘ at Brisbane. It was a surprise to see, as there was no Test scheduled to be played at Brisbane.
