One of the unsung heroes of the Indian Cricket Team during 2011 World Cup victory, Munaf Patel is one of them, who debuted after MS Dhoni and retired earlier than expected. The Gujarat player had made a reputation for himself to bowl at a pace of more than 140 Kmph. Munaf Patel was regarded to be the quickest Indian bowler when he strode onto the scene in 2003.

But injuries led to him decreasing his pace significantly. However, that didn’t affect his accuracy and Munaf continued to be effective. He made his debut in the Tests in March 2006 against England in Mohali and played his first ODI also against the same opponent the very next month.

Despite his great performance in the world cup, due to the rise of many young players, he didn’t get any further chance. He finally retired in 2018.
