Former Indian National Cricket team Test opener Aakash Chopra seemed concerned over the frequent security lapses, the latest during the second ODI between India and Australia at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur.
Meanwhile, as the men in blues were taking the field to defend their score of 250 runs, a fan chased former skipper MS Dhoni to meet and greet his idol. However, this is not a new site in India where the fans literal idol-worship the cricketers. The fan was wearing a white jersey featuring the no. 7 and ‘Thala’ written at the back, came running to Dhoni. However, the 37-year-old noticed the man rushing towards him and immediately started running away. Dodging the fan, Dhoni hid behind Rohit Sharma and running all the way to the pitch before stopping and hugging the fan. The security personnel eventually escorted the man off the ground.

But the incident grabbed the eyeballs of many cricketers, and they seemed intrigued by it. Former cricketer Aakash Chopra despite taking it jokingly during the game, expressed his concern at the end of the match. From the commentary box, Chopra said that it is difficult to catch MS Dhoni, one of the fittest in the India team. However, soon after the game, he took to Twitter to pen his apprehension.
“Serious lapse in security. How was he not even chased by the guards??? Happening too often,” wrote Chopra on Twitter.

However, moments after he tweeted his thoughts, it backfired on him as the fans started trolling him online. One of the Twitterattis asked whether Aakash Chopra received any such treatment on a cricket ground. Meanwhile, the right-handed batsman gracefully replied back saying that he hasn’t done anything worthwhile.
“Nahin dost. Never did anything worthwhile,” Aakash Chopra replied.

Meanwhile, with a 2-0 lead in the five-match series, the Indian National Cricket team will look to wrap up the series when they face Australia in the third ODI on March 8 (Thursday) at Ranchi, the hometown of MS Dhoni. The whole team looked in great spirit as they attended a team dinner hosted by Dhoni and his wife, Sakshi Shoni.
