Abhinav Mukund Ties Knot - Watch Pics

Out-of-favour India opener Abhinav Mukund, on Wednesday, became the latest cricketer to tie the knot. The Tamil Nadu star got married in a private ceremony attended by just his state teammates and close friends. Mukund managed to keep the whole development under the cover and the news became only public after India star Dinesh Karthik to Twitter to post a few pictures from the ceremony.

Mukund’s international career, meanwhile, is completely off the track now. The left-handed batsman, who made his Test debut way back in 2011, has played only seven Tests so far and never managed to cement his spot in the team. Six years after making his debut, he was recalled to the Test team in 2017 during the series against Australia but failed to justify his selection. After the failures in the Border-Gavaskar series, he was fortunately retained for the Sri Lanka series, but his poor performance in international cricket continued.

He got out for a duck in the warm-up game against Sri Lanka Board President’s XI before managing 12 in the first innings of the first Test. On the other hand, his partner Shikhar Dhawan, who too was making a comeback in the Test team, scored a brilliant century. Mukund went on to score 81 in the second innings but time ran out for him as he made way for KL Rahul in the following Test. Since then, he has not earned another recall. With the likes of Prithvi Shaw, Mayank Agarwal, KL Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan and others well above him in the pecking order, Abhinav Mukund is unlikely to get another recall.
