Afghanistan Premier League 2018: Shahid Afridi, Chris Gayle, Rashid Khan Named as Marquee Player

In the latest development of the Afghanistan Premier League 2018, the players’ auctions have been done and dusted. Each team availed their icon player and the squad to bag the first trophy in the brand-new tournament. Pakistan former skipper Shahid Afridi alongside Windies star Chris Gayle will represent teams as iconic players. Furthermore, Afghanistan ace Rashid Khan is another marquee player.
The event will see five primary states in the country; Kabul, Kandahar, Nangarhar, Paktia and Balkh respectively, taking part. The tournament is scheduled to start on October 5th at Sharjah. And on October 21st, the spectators will witness the grand finale of the tourney.
Paktia picks Shahid Afridi while Balkh picks Chris Gayle as their icon players:
Kabul picked their international star Rashid as the iconic player. Whereas Paktia showed their love to Shahid Afridi by availing his all-round services. Meanwhile, Chris Gayle will serve Balkh during his stint in APL 2018.
But Coming to Nangarhar and Kandahar teams, they named Andre Russell and Brendon McCullum as their icon players respectively.
In addition, apart from them, it will also feature international players. However, the list includes Chris Jordan, Thisara Perera, Luke Ronchi, Wayne Parnell, Colin Munro, Ravi Bopara, Mitchell McClenaghan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mohammad Hafeez, Ben Cutting and Wahab Riaz.
