Delhi Capitals’ assistant coach Mohammad Kaif was impressed with Ajinkya Rahane as his patient and gritty knock on Monday not only broke their four-match losing streak but also guided the side to the playoffs. Ajinkya Rahane was clinical as he top-scored with 60 to complete a chase of 153 against the Royal Challengers Bangalore in Abu Dhabi with six wickets to spare. Kaif has hailed Rahane as the role model for the youngsters.
Ajinkya Rahane came to bat at number three after RCB seamer Mohammed Siraj cleaned up Prithvi Shaw with a snorter. Rahane not only stabilized the Capitals’ innings but also added 88 runs with Shikhar Dhawan relatively briskly to put the Capitals in a dominant position. It was the 32-year old’s first substantial innings of IPL 2020 as the pressure was there on him to perform.
Mohammad Kaif took to his official Twitter handle to praise Ajinkya Rahane for his single-handed approach, serving as a role-model for the youngsters. Kaif hailed Rahane for playing a crucial role in the most vital game for the Capitals, proving that hard work never fails to pay off and goes out of fashion.
