Delhi Capitals’ assistant coach Mohammad Kaif was impressed with Ajinkya Rahane as his patient and gritty knock on Monday not only broke their four-match losing streak but also guided the side to the playoffs. Ajinkya Rahane was clinical as he top-scored with 60 to complete a chase of 153 against the Royal Challengers Bangalore in Abu Dhabi with six wickets to spare. Kaif has hailed Rahane as the role model for the youngsters.

Ajinkya Rahane came to bat at number three after RCB seamer Mohammed Siraj cleaned up Prithvi Shaw with a snorter. Rahane not only stabilized the Capitals’ innings but also added 88 runs with Shikhar Dhawan relatively briskly to put the Capitals in a dominant position. It was the 32-year old’s first substantial innings of IPL 2020 as the pressure was there on him to perform.

Ajinkya Rahane celebrates the success of Delhi Capitals:
The Maharashtra-born cricketer also took to social media to celebrate the Delhi Capitals’ entrance into the playoffs. The Capitals will face the Mumbai Indians on Thursday, a franchise whom they have lost to twice earlier in the tournament. Shreyas Iyer and co. will have their sights set on securing their maiden title.
