Ashes 2023: "I Just Want The Whole Series To Grip The Nation" - Stuart Broad Speaks On England's Mindset Heading Into The Ashes

Stuart Broad, the fast bowler of the England cricket team, has expressed his desire for the team to emulate their triumph in the 2005 Ashes series as they prepare to host Australia in the upcoming summer. The victory in the 2005 edition, which resulted in England reclaiming the coveted urn after 18 years with a 2-1 series win, is widely regarded as one of the team’s most significant accomplishments in Test cricket.
Under the leadership of captain Ben Stokes and head coach Brendon McCullum, England have been victorious in 10 out of their last 12 Test matches, with their daring and effective ‘Bazball’ approach. This high-risk, high-reward style has not only been entertaining but also productive with both batting and bowling units firing on all cylinders.

The schedule for the five-Test Ashes series of both the men’s and women’s teams has been confirmed for June and July, as England looks to seek redemption against Australia on their home soil.
The upcoming Ashes series will mark Ben Stokes’ debut as captain of the England cricket team in the Ashes. As the hosts aim to reclaim the coveted urn for the first time since 2015, the action will commence at Edgbaston on June 16, following a four-day Test match against Ireland. Stuart Broad hopes that the team will be able to repeat the heroics from 2005 as the side looks solid as ever.

Ashes 2023: I Want Our Players To Take Positive Actions At All Times: Stuart Broad
During an interview with Sky Sports, Stuart Broad spoke on the importance of the series against Australia and hopes that all the players in the team take a positive approach throughout the series.
“I just want the whole series to grip the nation and inspire kids the way 2005 did. I want our players to take positive options at all times and if there’s a day we get bowled out for a 100, it is what it is. As long as the next day we come back with the same intent and become even more aggressive and entertain even more.”
“The mindset of the group and what Baz [Brendon McCullum] has brought in is that the result’s irrelevant. It’s entertainment we’re here for. I think the biggest compliment I can give is that part of me wishes I was 23. Part of me wishes I was learning my trade in this environment. I learnt under Andy Flower.”
“But imagine being Harry Brook now and coming in with that freedom and backing? There will be lots of Test cricketers from the 90s wishing they’d had this sort of backing.”
