Asia Cup 2018: Rashid Latif Calls Pakistan Favourites to Lift the Trophy

It’s time for the clash of the Asian teams on the international circuit. Meanwhile, the former skipper of Pakistan, Rashid Latif terms Pakistan favourites to win the Asia Cup 2018.
Rashid Latif felt the home conditions and the balance in the team would put Pakistan as the front-runners for the coveted Asia Cup 2018. He kept his hopes on the bowling department of the team.

The former skipper added Fakhar Zaman holds the key for Pakistan to come good. He said the balance in the team is quite good that can boost the team to win the trophy.
Rashid Latif furtherly quoted the bowling department has got the real quicks who can deliver the goods. He feels the return of Junaid Khan is a good incentive for Pakistan team on UAE pitches.
“Pakistan batting is highly balanced and delivering for last few matches consistently. For me, Fakhar Zaman holds the key as he is in traffic form and producing wonders with the willow. He can provide Pakistan perfect start and he will remain instrumental throughout the Cup and upcoming series,” he said to The Nation.
“Return of Junaid Khan will boost fast bowling department, as he has formed a formidable pair with M Amir and Fahim while Shahdab will definitely add strength to bowling. S Malik, like always, will be the backbone and will boost further chances of Pakistan. On a whole, Pakistan team is balanced and is capable of winning the Asia Cup,” he added.
India is much weaker in the absence of Virat Kohli – Rashid Latif
The former skipper of Pakistani team spoke regarding the match against India. He feels the Indian team is less competitive without Virat Kohli in their ranks. However, he wants his team to approach the game professionally.
“As United Arab Emirates (UAE) is home for Pakistan cricket for last decade and green caps are fully aware of the conditions, they have very bright chances of winning the Cup. India is much weaker in the absence of Virat Kohli, but green caps have to be very professional in approach and shouldn’t take them easy.
