He was even distracted by Aaron Finch and Tim Paine with banter in the middle. However, Rohit Sharma showed great application to push India to a big total on the board. Unfortunately, the declaration saw him walking unbeaten with a hint of a thought of scoring a century in his head.

Meanwhile, according to the reports in the Times of India, Rohit Sharma is travelling back to India to attend his wife Ritika and the baby girl. He will be missing the Sydney Test for the same, as the time won’t suit him to play.

“It would’ve been great to have him (Rohit) around,” The Times of India quoted a source as saying on Monday. “Tactically, he brings so much to the side and then his batting provides the right kind of balance to the side. But what awaits him is far bigger and more important.”

Well, with Rohit Sharma missing the game, it would be a chance for Hardik Pandya to get the game, who flew in the middle of the series. Meanwhile, they might also think about bringing in a spinner option in between Ravichandran Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav.

The fourth and final Test of the series is set to be played on January 2nd at Sydney Cricket Grounds, Sydney. With Indian taking the unassailable lead of 2-1, Australia would like to level the series with a victory at Sydney.
