It seems like Hanuma Vihari’s magic is continuing to deliver the goods for India in WACA. Right from his debut in England to the ongoing Perth Test, Vihari rewards India with his sharp spin. It was a big wicket for India, as the dangerous-looking Shaun Marsh bites the dust, especially, when the game is equally poised. During the course, he was successful in getting the outside edge from Marsh’s willow. Ajinkya Rahane, who is ever-sharp in the slip cordon took a clean catch, despite the ball deflecting away from the pads of gloveman Rishabh Pant.
It took place in the 77th over when Vihari was asked to deliver his 12th over. Vihari has been exceptional during his spell, who was bowling tight lines to keep Australia in check.
It was the second wicket of the day for Andhra all-rounder. Initially, he sent Marcus Harris back to the hut, who scored a brilliant 70 and was looked all set to score his maiden century.
As it happened:
Earlier, it was Australia, who won the toss and asked the visitors to roll their arms. Justifying the toss decision well, Australian openers batted smartly to take away the first session of the game.
The duo batted with authority to put Indians chasing the leather more often than not. The first session of the game completely went in favour of the hosts, who haven’t lost a single wicket during the course.
However, the second session changed the narrative with Indian bowlers making things happen. First, it was Jasprit Bumrah, who gave the breakthrough while Vihari and Umesh Yadav continued the good work.
The lanky pacer Ishant Sharma also bagged a wicket to his name when Virat Kohli took a stunner to dismiss Peter Handscomb.
