Former Australian skipper Allan Border said that India is ‘real deal’ now in the world cricket after Virat Kohli’s team took an unassailable 2-1 lead in the four-match Test series with the win at iconic MCG Stadium. Border hailed the efforts of India’s fast bowling department.
However, Border has lavished praises on the Indian cricket team. He said that a good pace attack has seen them leave behind their past struggles in overseas conditions.
“They’re the real deal now; they’re the No. 1 team. They’ve had their struggles away from home, but they’re starting to improve because they’ve had some good fast bowling.” Border told Foxsports.com.au.
Moreover, in his first year of Test cricket, Jasprit Bumrah claimed three five-wicket hauls in overseas Tests. The other two came against South Africa and England. He hit a new high in the Boxing Day Test at the MCG – his match haul of 9 for 86 is now the best by an Indian quick in Australia.

Border praises Team India:
In addition to, Australian great Allan Border feels that the current bowling set up had made India stronger as a team than before. They had shown some exciting figures previously in South Africa, then in England and now in Australia.
“They’ve been a great side to watch and they deserve this win. It’s as a good an Indian bowling attack as I’ve ever seen. They’ve had some fantastic individual bowlers over the years, particularly famous for their spin, going back to when I first started with Bishan Bedi, Erapalli Prasanna, Bhagwath Chandrasekhar.” Border added.
Furthermore, India had lost away series to South Africa and England earlier this year. However, Border believes Kohli’s team is beginning to improve in overseas competition.

“Now they’ve settled on a fantastic fast bowling group, plus they’ve got a couple in the wings that are pretty handy, plus they’ve got a couple of good spinners, and their batting is very, very good.” Border concluded.
The last and fourth Test of the four-match Test series will commence from January 3, 2019, at Sydney.
