India’s Test deputy Ajinkya Rahane was dismissed when he tried to play a reverse sweep against Nathan Lyon. Rahane played a fine knock of 70 runs from 147 balls but tried to play an uncharacteristic shot that led to his downfall. However, it was a brilliant inning from India’s vice-captain to get back into form. On the other hand, Nathan Lyon was the chief destroyer of the Indian innings as the off-spinner scalped six wickets.
Meanwhile, Ajinkya Rahane was out fishing at a wide off-stump ball in the first innings. Rahane was guilty of flashing too hard and had to pay the price. However, Ajinkya Rahane corrected his shortcomings of the first innings and batted with determination.

The right-hander made good use of his feet to tackle the big threat of Nathan Lyon. In fact, Rahane played a fine blooming cover drive off Pat Cummins. Rahane also played some delightful shots in his knock.
Thus, this knock must have done Rahane a world of good as he needed some runs under his belt. Rahane hasn’t been in greatest form and would be delighted to get the much-needed runs.

In fact, Rahane has had an ordinary average of 28 in the last one year while playing away from home. Consequently, Rahane will like to continue with his good form. This was Rahane’s 16th fifty.
On the other hand, Cheteshwar Pujara was once again amongst the runs. Pujara scored 71 runs as he batted with resilience. Furthermore, Pujara had scored 123 runs in the first dig. Meanwhile, India has set up a target of 323 runs for the Australian team.
