India’s limited overs deputy Rohit Sharma played a poor shot to hold out to the deep square boundary. In fact, Rohit Sharma had a narrow escape in the same over against Nathan Lyon. Australia’s debutant Marcus Harris could not hold on a difficult chance at the boundary ropes as Sharma was able to get his third six.

However, Rohit Sharma didn’t learn his lessons as he once again went for a big shot. It was beautifully tossed up by Nathan Lyon and the Indian right-hander could not get to the pitch of the ball. Thus, Nathan Lyon had the last laugh in the battle.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma was looking good in his knock as he scored 37 runs from 61 balls. The stylish batsman scored three sixes and two fours in his promising innings. However, Rohit would have been disappointed by his shot selection as there was no need to go for the big shot. Rohit has all the experience under his belt and it was surprising to see him play such a disappointing shot.

Consequently, India has their backs against the wall as they are currently batting on 110 for the loss of five wickets. The first session was won by the hosts as they scalped four wickets by giving 56 runs.

Josh Hazlewood took two wickets whereas Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon and Pat Cummins scalped one wicket each. On the other hand, Cheteshwar Pujara has been trying to fight it out as he is batting on 31 runs. However, Australia was able to put their noses in front.

Meanwhile, India will need to come back to stay in the Test match. India is currently at 122-5.

Here is Rohit Sharma’s dismissal:
