Sri Lanka???s southpaw opener Dimuth Karunaratne had to deal with a nasty blow to shoulder while facing Australia???s spearhead Pat Cummins. The left-hander was hit on the shoulder and then on to his neck after Pat Cummins bowled an accurate bouncer at him. Karunaratne could not get away from the line of the ball and fell down on the pitch.
Subsequently, he was attended by the Sri Lanka physio before he was put on a stretcher. In fact, the good news is that Dimuth Karunaratne didn???t lose his consciousness after getting hit and he was seen talking to the medical staff while lying down on the pitch.

It was a nasty blow.

Update from Canberra: "Dimuth complained of pain in neck and tingling to his hands following being struck in the back of the neck, decision then made to transport him to hospital where he is currently being assessed. Updates will be provided when more is known."
