Bangladesh Cricket Team registered their highest number of sixes in a single game against Sri Lanka yesterday. Meanwhile, Bangladesh thumped host Sri Lanka by five wickets in a high-scoring encounter.

Batting first, Sri Lanka posted 214 runs on the board courtesy Kusal Mendis and Kusal Perera. Mendia gave a perfect start scoring 57 off just 30 balls with the help of 3 fours and five sixes. However, Perera, who is in great touch scored 74 runs in 48 balls to help his team go past 200.

Meanwhile, in reply, Bangladesh reached the target with two balls to spare and five wickets in hand. Bangladesh got off to a brilliant start with the help of Liton Das (43 of 19) and Tamim Iqbal (47 of 29). However, Mushfiqur Rahim hammered the most. Rahim played one of his best knocks scoring 72 off just 35 balls as Bangladesh crossed the target.

However, it was a bad day for the bowlers as they went for plenty. Sri Lankan skipper Dinesh Chandimal’s decision to bowl Akil Dhananjaya backfired as Bangladesh notched up up 72 runs.

However, with each team winning one match each, the tournament has taken an interesting shape.

Bangladesh creates history:

Bangladesh notched their highest haul of sixes in a T20 match during their record victory against Sri Lanka yesterday. They struck 12 sixes yesterday to break their previous record of 8 sixes against New Zealand in 2013.

Previously, Bangladesh struck six sixes against Sri Lanka in a T20 match.

Liton’s fiery innings at the top of the innings saw him hit five sixes. Tamim, Ziaur Rahman, and Nazimuddin had previously attained the feat of hitting five sixes during a T20I match for the Tigers.
