As reported by Daily Telegraph and Channel 9, the bans on disgraced Austalia duo Steven Smith and David Warner could get alleviated, and they could make their way back to the Australia team sooner than expected.

Meanwhile, the duo was banned from taking part in any professional cricket in Australia regarding the ball-tampering issue in South Africa early this year.

This could be a great news for the banned duo.

Therefore, both these players are plying on their trade in Canada in the ongoing Global T20 League.

However, a source has reported the public perspective is changing with time. Consequently, it can help the pair in making a comeback at the fag end of Sheffield Shield.

“It’s still a long way from happening and there’s plenty of hoops to jump through, but I think the public sentiment is starting to shift in favor of allowing them to play domestically,” an unnamed source was quoted by Channel 9.

“It would also be a big boost to the quality of the Sheffield Shield to have them available, and a really good test for the young bowlers currently playing for their states.”

However, as of now Smith and Warner are not permitted to play in Australia before the final of Sheffield Shield on March 28.

On the other hand, Cameron Bancroft received a nine-month ban from Cricket Australia for his role in ball tampering. Currently, the right-hander is playing in NT Strike League in Darwin.

Furthermore, Bancroft’s ban will get uplifted through the midway stage of the Big Bash League. Meanwhile, both Warner and Smith will be happy if they can play in the fag end of the domestic circuit.
