Ben Stokes Likely to Miss ODIs Against Scotland, Australia Following Hamstring Injury

England’s star all-rounder, Ben Stokes remains doubtful for the upcoming One-day International ties against Scotland and Australia, due to a torn hamstring.

The marquee all-rounder Stokes was replaced by fast bowler Tom Curran’s brother, Sam Curran, in the second Test match at Headingley, Leeds against Pakistan.

Stokes, earlier on the eve of the start of the second Test match, was sent for a scan which revealed his injury.

Also, the gravity of Stokes’ injury would be figured out in the coming days as he is likely to go for another scan.

If sources are to be believed in, the tear would keep Stokes out of action for several weeks. This means that the Durham star might miss out on the upcoming ODI ties with Scotland and Australia.

It is learnt that Stokes sustained the injury during the fielding practice session on Wednesday (May 30). Stokes is coming off a long stint with Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Stokes opted not to bowl during the nets after having a go with the bat.

Yet again, Ben Stokes’ injury will be taken into scrutiny post an IPL season, much like Chris Woakes injury last year owing to the Champions Trophy 2017.

The No.1 ODI side in the world, England, will face Scotland in the One-off fixture at Edinburg on June 10. This is the first time since May 2014, that the Three Lions will be touring north in Scotland.

The highly-anticipated series between England and Australia is set to begin on June 13. Australia was handed a humiliating 4-1 defeat Down Under (Ashes campaign) earlier this year.
