IPL 2020: Brad Hogg Earmarks Ambati Rayudu To Play For India Again

Former Australian spinner Brad Hogg has made a massive claim about Ambati Rayudu following his match-winning knock for the Chennai Super Kings. Ambati Rayudu scored 71 off 48 deliveries against Mumbai Indians in the opening match of IPL 2020, handing him the man of the match award. Brad Hogg would not be surprised if the veteran plays for India again.

In the first game, Ambati Rayudu arrived at the crease when the Super Kings were struggling at 6-2 in pursuit of 163. Rayudu and Faf Du Plessis shared a stand of 115-runs that proved decisive in guiding Chennai to win by five wickets later. Following his scintillating showing with the bat, several cricketers have questioned the 34-year old’s exclusion from the 2019 World Cup squad.

Brad Hogg highlighted CSK’s depth and after Rayudu’s knock in the opening match of IPL 2020, Hogg backs him to do the number four job again. The Western Australian added that the right-handed batsman would make back to back to back significant scores being in top-notch form.

“CSK have got plenty of depth. Ambati Rayudu stood up and I think he can do a job again at No.4. I won’t be surprised if he is playing for India sooner rather than later. I think he is going to have another big series. He looks on top, watch him to make another 50 and he will make another 50 and become the man of the match,” Hogg told in his Youtube channel.

The 49-year old opened up on Rajasthan Royals’ significant blow ahead of their opening match against CSK on Tuesday in Sharjah. Brad Hogg named Jos Buttler’s absence as the big blow, who will miss Tuesday’s game due to completing his quarantine period. According to the former Australian spinner, Buttler is their best player of spin and the only one whose strike rate is above 120.

“The big blow for Rajasthan Royals would be Jos Buttler as he won’t be playing against CSK because he is still in quarantine. He came a little later than the other Australian and England players in the UAE for this IPL. The reason why it is a big blow because he is the Royals’ best player against spin. He is the only one who has got a strike-rate of above 120. So that is a big void to fill,” he added.
