New Zealand former skipper Brendon McCullum faced a tricky question when he was asked to pick his favorite opening partner. McCullum had to choose between his countryman Kane Williamson and his Big Bash League partner, Chris Lynn.

McCullum leads Brisbane Heats in the BBL and opens the innings with Australian combative batsman. Consequently, he selected Chris Lynn as his favorite opening partner in the shortest format of the game.

McCullum and Lynn form an explosive pair.

Meanwhile, McCullum made his appearance in New Zealand’s All Blacks podcast last week. There he answered some questions that were put by the social media fans.

When McCullum was asked to pick between the two opening partners, he answered in the following manner.

“That’s a terrible question,” McCullum laughed. “That’s like asking which is your favorite son or favorite daughter.”

Meanwhile, both Brendon McCullum and current New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson opened the innings on seven occasions in T20I. The pair averaged 31 for the Kiwis.

On the other hand, Brendon and Chris Lynn is one of the most exciting opening duos in the shortest format of the game.

“So Kane, he would be an ultimate person for your daughter to marry, if that makes sense. Absolutely love him and he’s a genius cricketer,” he said. Chris Lynn is the fella you want to be having a beer with at the pub after the races and he’s a ripping fella as well and he hits the ball miles. I’d say, Chris Lynn, don’t take any offense, Kane!”.

Furthermore, McCullum and Lynn will be seen in action while playing for the same Carribean Premier League side. Both Lynn (US$130,000) and McCullum ($90,000) were roped in by the Trinbago Knight Riders in the CPL draft in March. Thus, the pair would be seen in action once again in August.
