The IPL franchises are probably done with homework and have made their strategies for the upcoming auction. Yes, there can always be last-minute changes but they would be done with all their preparations needed. Amidst this, Chennai Super Kings Kings (CSK) off-spinner has backed Jason Roy and Sheldon Cottrell, hinting that his franchise could bid for these two players.

In his latest tweet, Harbhajan wrote that if he were to pick players during the auction, he would pick Jason Roy and Sheldon Cottrell. Being the most experienced player in CSK, the franchise will surely have a look at his suggestion and it might also bid for them.

Roy, who played a pivotal role in England’s World Cup win, has been part of Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) and Gujarat Lions in the T20 league. In eight IPL matches so far, he has scored 179 runs. He hasn’t been a regular in IPL but the things have changed since the World Cup.

He could be one of the top picks in the auction as well. Roy was given a long rope by England which led to him becoming their first-choice opener, ahead of Alex Hales. He, along with Jonny Bairstow, have changed the dynamics in ODIs.

Cottrell, who is playing the limited-overs series against India, might also bag maiden bid for himself. The left-arm pacer is yet to make his IPL debut and had gone unsold in IPL 2018 auction. His stocks have gone up since the World Cup.

In the India T20I series, he scalped three wickets while he also impressed in the Chennai ODI with two wickets – Cottrell dismissed Virat Kohli and KL Rahul.

As per a report in dailymail.co.uk, CSK had enquired about Tom Banton’s availability, hinting that they are looking for an opener and the franchise might bid for Roy as well.

Cottrell might not fetch a big amount but might be bought by the franchise which is looking for a pacer, including CSK.
