Perhaps, Cheteshwar Pujara would be the ideal person to speak about the Pink ball Test ahead of the first International Day/Night Test match. He has been the Test specialist for the Indian National Cricket Team and one of the few players, who got the experience of playing the Pink ball Test before.

Cheteshwar Pujara is looking forward to India’s first-ever day-night Test despite all the talk of the challenges it may throw at the players. However, he is confident that the country’s formidable batting line-up will have no trouble adapting to the pink ball.

Speaking of the inclusion of Pink Ball Test in Ranji Trophy, the flamboyant batsman quoted that the offcials need to have a close look at the first International game at the Eden Gardens. He believes that the outcome of the match will result in adding a few more Pink ball matches in domestic format.

Further, speaking about the preparations which are needed to adapt and adjust to the new conditions, Pujara said that he along with different players would have to play with the ball in the stipulated conditions before the match to get used to the changing dynamics.

“See, when it comes to pink-ball cricket, you need to get used to it. Before the Test match, I will try and play with the pink ball and even as a team, we will conduct a few net sessions with the pink cherry,” Cheteshwar Pujara said to Times Now.

”We have played it in the first-class cricket and now is the time in a Test match so definitely looking forward to it. It is an exciting prospect for the longer version,” he further added.

Cheteshwar Pujara topped the run charts (453) with two daddy hundreds, including a 256 not out for India Blue in the Duleep Trophy more than three years back when the pink ball was experimented with for the first time by the Sourav Ganguly-led BCCI technical committee.
