The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has issued an exhaustive list of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines to state associations for the  resumption of domestic cricket activities, and training at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.

The guidelines are meant for all players, support staff involved in training, administrative staff and the facility management staff. All the individuals will be required to undergo testing before the resumption of training and will have to sign a form with their consent.

“The health and safety of players, staff and stakeholders will be the sole responsibility of respective State Cricket Associations,” read the BCCI guidelines on resumption of cricket.

The state associations will have to obtain the necessary permissions from local administration and health authorities, along with the appointment of a Chief Medical Officer and medical staff responsible for implementation of bio-safety guidelines.

Before the resumption of the training, travel and medical history of the players and staff (for the past two weeks) needs to be obtained. Any player or staff suspected to have symptoms related to coronavirus should undergo two tests, with a gap of one day between the tests. The individual will be allowed in to join the training camp only if both his tests are negative.

Aarogya Setu app must:

Installing the Aarogya Setu app has been made mandatory by the BCCI. Wearing masks is also mandatory although it would be optional while training. The individuals taking part in training also need to carry and use personal hand sanitizer.

Players have been further recommended to use their own cricketing equipment.  Support staff, officials and ground staff over 60 years of age and with individuals with underlying medical conditions have been barred from attending training camps. There will also be a webinar before the commencement of training to educate the players, staff members and others.
