The 19th match of Caribbean Premier League (CPL 2018) took place between St Kitts and Nevis Patriots and Guyana Amazon Warriors. Guyana would be thankful to the brilliance of Sohail Tanvir who have now redeemed to the second spot in the ongoing edition points table.

Summary of Nevis Patriots’ innings:

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots could achieve a total of 168 for the loss of seven wickets.

The opening batsmen of Kitts, Chris Gayle, and Evin Lewis put forth an opening partnership of 71 runs in just 7.4 overs.

Evin Lewis fell soon after the departure of Chris Gayle. St Kitts was on 73 when Imran Tahir bamboozled him on the individual score of 28.

Brandon King, who hit the ton in the previous match could not score much in this particular match. He was unable to read the googly from Tahir that breached his defence to hit the timber.

Anton Devcich once again found himself in the run-getters as he scored 35 of just 25 balls with five fours and a six.

An excellent cameo from Ben Cutting:

Ben Cutting played an excellent cameo of 19 off nine that powered the score of St Kitts to reach an excellent score of 168.

About the chase

Guyana Amazon Warriors got off to a similar start. The opening batsmen of Guyana put off their team to a flier. Chadwick Walton alongside Luke Ronchi put an opening partnership of 35 runs inside five overs.

Evin Lewis was the first wicket to depart as Sheldon Cotrell provided the first breakthrough.

Ronchi falls after scoring a quickfire knock of 28 off 16 balls with the help of two sixes and the equal number of fours.

CPL 2018: A handy partnership between Jason Mohammed and Shimron Hetmyer

Shimron Hetmyer alongside Jason Mohammed put 46 runs partnership for the third wicket. Hetmyer was the third man to depart as he scored only 28 runs.

Jason Mohammed keeps run-chase in check as scored brilliant 36 runs off just 25 balls.

However, soon after Jason depart, Guyana found itself in the precarious situation. The chase suddenly looked bleak after his departure by Ben Cutting.

Man of the match:

However, Sohail Tanvir played an excellent knock to help his team to get a four-wicket victory over St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. He scored unbeaten 37 off just 20 balls with the help of two sixes and two fours respectively. He won the award for ‘Man of the match.’
