After Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh showed their support for Shahid Afridi’s Foundation, former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria has pleaded the two to “make a video” to help minorities living in his country. As per reports, minorities in Pakistan are facing inhumane treatment from the local authorities amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Media reports suggest that the minorities are not even getting ration during these tough times. And with the situation showing no signs of improvement, Danish Kaneria took to Twitter to do his bit.

He took to the popular social media platform to urge Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh to come forward and do their bit for the minorities living in Pakistan.

“I request @YUVSTRONG12 and @harbhajan_singh to make a video for the minorities living in Pakistan as well. They need your help in this moment of #coronacrisis,” tweeted Danish Kaneria.

Previously, Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh had joined forces with Shahid Afridi for helping Pakistanis during the global health crisis. Unsurprisingly, they faced criticism from all around. Yuvraj Singh, in fact, had to give a clarification over his move.

As far as Danish Kaneria is concerned, the ex-spinner continues to fight for himself in Pakistan. A couple of months ago, he was all over the news after Shoaib Akhtar had sensationally claimed that the ex-spinner faced religious discrimination in the Pakistan dressing room.

Akhtar alleged that the players were not even ready to eat from the same table with Danish Kaneria and the latter never got credits for his fine performances. After Akhtar’s allegations, Danish Kaneria also stated the same.

Danish Kaneria is the fourth highest wicket-taker for Pakistan in Test. With 261 wickets to his name, he is only behind Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis and Imran Khan in the list. No other spinner from Pakistan has taken more Test wickets than Kaneria.

The leg-spinner, however, is facing a lot of trouble and is unemployed from the last one decade after being banned for life for spot-fixing scandal. He was given a lifetime ban by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) after allegations of him being involved in spot-fixing. He subsequently filed an appeal against the ban, but this was rejected in July 2013.
