Dwayne Bravo Hopeful Of MS Dhoni Playing In T20 World Cup
West Indies allrounder Dwayne Bravo believes his Chennai Super Kings teammate MS Dhoni will play in next’s year T20 World Cup. There are big question marks over the veteran’s participation in the tournament as there is absolutely no clarity over his international career. The former India skipper has not played a competitive game since the end of the World Cup.
As soon as the tournament ended, MS Dhoni took a sabbatical. Consequently, he missed the tour of West Indies. It was expected that he would return to action once the home series starts. However, Dhoni decided against it as he made himself unavailable for selection. Chief of India’s selection panel MSK Prasad then made a huge statement by saying that the selectors are moving on from MS Dhoni and thus haven’t picked him in the team after the World Cup.
There is still no update on when Dhoni could return to the team. And with less than a year remaining before the T20 World Cup gets underway, there are question marks over Dhoni’s participation in the competition. However, Bravo is hopeful that the wicketkeeper-batsman will be a part of the Indian team for the marquee event.
“Dhoni has never retired. So I think he will be there at the World T20. MS has never let things outside cricket influence him and he has taught us the same and told us to never panic and trust our abilities,” Bravo told The Times of India.
Bravo comes out of retirement:
Unlike MS Dhoni, Dwayne Bravo looks set to play the next T20 World Cup. Having brought down curtains on his international career last year, the veteran allrounder came out of his retirement on Friday. The two time T20 World Cup-winner has made himself available for the West Indies T20I side.
