Well, after a lot of travelling, Indians reached the last overseas ODI series ahead of the ICC World Cup 2019. This is their final chance to figure out the best squad for the upcoming major event in the game of cricket. Meanwhile, the former Indian batsman Gautam Gambhir picks his 15-member squad for the grand event with a surprise inclusion of Ravichandran Ashwin.
Gambhir picked the regular openers Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma, who will be assisted by the Karnataka batsman KL Rahul. He is currently under suspension for his bad remarks in the talk show, which kept him and Hardik Pandya under the pump.

Then, obviously, the skipper of Indian Cricket Team, Virat Kohli finds a place alongside Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Gambhir kept his trust in Ambati Rayudu in the middle-order, who will be accompanied by Kedar Jadhav and Dinesh Karthik.
He clarified that Rishabh Pant needs to wait, as MS Dhoni and Dinesh Karthik are the wicketkeeping options for the team. Then, he named the fast bowling-all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who is currently out of the team following the suspension.
Gambhir seems like pretty convinced with the current fast bowling department. He picked Bhuvneshwar Kumar alongside Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami to fill the section. He believes that Hardik’s presence will help India go with an extra-spinner.
Then came the surprise selection, as Gambhir picked Ravichandran Ashwin in the team. Ashwin hasn’t played ODI cricket in the recent past but Gautam feels that his experience matters for India. And, he finished the squad with Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav. The notable exclusion was Ravindra Jadeja.
