West Indies’ Kieron Pollard has pulled off some miraculous catches in his career. Pollard added another sublime catch to his bag in the Global T20 Canada league. In the Eliminator contest between Winnipeg Hawks and Toronto Nationals, Pollard dived to his left to take a fine catch to dismiss Winnipeg Hawks opener, Chris Lynn.

The Australian combative batsman smashed Chris Green to the long-on boundary but Pollard made good ground to get to the ball. However, Winnipeg Hawks won the match by just two runs via the Duckworth Lewis method.

Winnipeg Hawks captain Rayad Emrit won the toss and decided to bowl first. Toronto Nationals posted a competitive total of 238 runs after South African batsman Heinrich Klaasen scored a splendid hundred. The right-hander scored 11 fours and five sixes in his knock of 106 runs from 49 balls. Furthermore, Rodrigo Thomas scored a fine knock of 73 runs from 40 balls with the help of seven fours and five sixes.

However, Toronto Nationals captain Yuvraj Singh scored eight runs and had to retired hurt. Pollard could only score 12 runs off five balls.

On the other hand, Winnipeg Hawks scored 201-5 in 17.1 overs before the rain intervened. Thus, Hawks was adjudged winners by two runs and made their way into the final of the tournament.

JP Duminy scored a brilliant knock of 85 runs from 41 balls with the help of eight fours and five sixes. Hence, the Proteas southpaw batsman was awarded the Man of the Match award. Winnipeg Hawks captain Rayad Emrit was able to add the finishing touches as he scored 32 runs from 15 balls with the help of two fours and three sixes.

Subsequently, Winnipeg Hawks also lifted the trophy as they defeated Vancouver Knights in the final. The match ended in a tie but Hawks were able to clinch the thriller in the Super Over.
