Veteran spinner has called Kolkata Knight Riders’ spinner Varun Chakravarthy an ‘India material’ after the latter’s sensational bowling performance against Delhi Capitals on Saturday.

The mystery spinner ended with stunning figures of 5 for 20 as KKR beat Delhi Capitals by 59 runs to return to winning ways and keep their playoffs chances on track. Chasing a huge total of 195, Delhi Capitals came up with a poor batting display and ended up on 135 for 9.

By the Varun was introduced in the attack in the 12th over, the match was already looking out of Delhi Capitals’ reach. And any hopes of a strong finish was dashed by Varun as he ripped through their middle-order to give the two-time IPL winners a much-needed win.

The Tamil Nadu spinner accounted for Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, Shimron Hetmyer, Marcus Stoinis and Axar Patel to completely derail Delhi Capitals’ challenge. And soon after he finished his sensational spell, Harbhajan Singh took to Twitter to lavish praise on him.
