Former World-Cup winning skipper, Imran Khan is all set to be named as the next Prime Minister of Pakistan.
Meanwhile, it is one of the first instances that a cricketer has turned out to be the Prime Minister of his country. Cricketers like Mohammad Azharuddin, Sandeep Patil, Venugopal Rao and many more have entered politics. However, the post of Prime Minister is the ultimate.
The statement of Imran came in the midst of slow counting ballots. On one hand, the violence severely marred the elections. Officials said on Thursday evening about the pre-notions of the elections. It was almost confirmed yesterday that Imran would be the new PM of Pakistan. However, the official news was yet to be released. Hence it was clear to everyone that Imran was in control of proceedings. Given his Casanova nature, his appointment might raise a few voices. Imran was earlier levelled several allegations by her last wife.
Meanwhile coming to his opponent, Nawaz Sharif is the head of the Pakistan Muslin League. He rejected the votes. It generated fears that the losers would primarily stall the formation of the new government in Pakistan. Sharif during his tenure as the PM had served a prison sentence. His party lost the vote by a big margin.

Harbhajan’s message for Imran Khan
Out of favour Indian spinner, Harbhajan Singh congratulated Imran on his appointment. Bhajji hopes that his appointment brings peace and happiness to the country. “Many congratulations to @ImranKhanPTI for becoming the Prime Minister of Pakistan! I hope you bring about peace and happiness amongst all. and work towards a bigger and brighter future! Wishing you all the best,” he wrote. He is a huge figure. Hence everyone expects good things from the former skipper.
Imran Khan is still the only Pakistan skipper to lead them to a World Cup title back in 1992. It was a huge achievement from the Men in Green. They were by no way contenders to win the tournament. Imran had come out of retirement to lead the Pakistan side. Moreover, his presence and guidance proved to be vital in helping Pakistan lift the one and only World Cup for Pakistan till date.
Many congratulations to @ImranKhanPTI for becoming the Prime Minister of Pakistan! I hope you bring about peace and happiness amongst all, and work towards a bigger and brighter future! Wishing you all the best 🙂
