Umpiring mistakes in the Indian Premier League (IPL) have become a regular affair. Every now and then, the on-field umpires come up with decisions that create controversies and something similar happened on Saturday when Royal Challengers Bangalore and SunRisers Hyderabad were playing against each other.

The on-field umpires surprisingly failed to call a high full-toss a no-ball. The incident took place in the 10th over of SRH’s innings when Isuru Udana was bowling to Kane Williamson. The left-arm pacer bowled one which was well above the batsman’s waist.

Williamson managed to pull it to the fine leg and to his surprise, none of the two umpires called it a no-ball. Baffled with the decision, the New Zealand skipper also asked the umpire about the same when he crossed sides after the single but in the end, Udana got away.

Harbhajan Singh and Jofra Archer surprised:

Soon after the incident, veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh and Rajasthan Royals pace spearhead Jofra Archer took to Twitter to express their surprise over the same. Both the bowlers were baffled with the umpire’s call as just like others, they were convinced too that it was a no-ball.

Harbhajan Singh posted a clip of the incident and took a sly dig at the umpire’s call, tweeting:

No this isn’t a no ball @IPL”

Archer, on the other hand, simply tweeted:

Fortunately for SRH, the decision didn’t make much of a difference as they went on to crush RCB by five wickets and keep their playoffs hopes alive with one more league game remaining. Bowling first, the Hyderabad-based outfit restricted RCB to a modest total of 120 for 7 before chasing it down inside 15 overs by losing five wickets.
