Pakistan southpaw opener Imran Farhat has lashed out at former skipper Shahid Afridi for ruining careers of other players. Shahid Afridi had recently claimed in his book Game-Changers that he was not 16 years of age when he had scored that famous 37-ball hundred against Sri Lanka at Nairobi in 1996.

However, Shahid Afridi claims that he was 19 years of age as he was born in 1975 and not 1980. In fact, he was born in 1975 then he must have been 21 and not 19 in 1996.

Meanwhile, Imran Farhat has made some bold statements as he said that Afridi went on to lie for a long period.

I am utterly ashamed.

“I am utterly ashamed from what I have heard and read so far regarding this new book of Afridi, someone who has lied about his age for 20 odd years now decides to come clean and name and blame some of our living legends,” said the 36-year-old.

“In fact, I have a lot of stories to tell regarding this so called Saint we have had the pleasure of playing with. He sure is talented enough to become a politician,” he added.

Furthermore, the former left-handed batsman has urged the other Pakistan players to come out and speak the truth about Shahid Afridi.

“I have a fair few stories to tell and I urge all the players who have been named and shamed to speak up and tell the truth about this selfish player who has ruined plenty of careers for his own good,” said Farhat.

Meanwhile, a petition has been filed in Pakistan court to stop the publication of the book. Shahid Afridi’s book has been making all the news in the recent past since it was launched on 25th April.

On the other hand, Shahid Afridi had a lucrative career which spanned for a period of 20 years. Afridi also recently played for Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League and scalped 10 wickets at an economy rate of 6.74.
