Ravichandran Ashwin, the Indian spinner, is on the verge of reclaiming the top position in the ICC Men’s Test Bowler Rankings, while Ravindra Jadeja has also moved up in the rankings after their impressive performance against Australia.
The duo wreaked havoc on Australia in the first Test of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship, taking a total of 15 wickets as India recorded a convincing victory by an inning and 132 runs.

Before tea on the third day, Ravichandran Ashwin played a key role in India’s impressive win, taking 5 wickets for just 37 runs in the second innings, which added to his earlier figures of 3 wickets for 42 runs.
This outstanding performance has helped Ashwin move up to the second position in the Test bowler rankings, with a rating just 21 points behind the top-ranked Australian captain, Pat Cummins. If Ashwin manages to claim the top spot, it would be the first time since 2017 that he has achieved this feat.
Ravindra Jadeja Edging Towards A Top 10 Entry
In the first Test, Ravindra Jadeja made a significant contribution on the opening day by taking 5 wickets for just 47 runs, which included the valuable wickets of Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne. With his brilliant performance, Ravindra Jadeja has now climbed up to the 16th spot in the ICC Bowler Rankings in Tests.

In the second innings, Ravindra Jadeja, along with Ashwin, played a crucial role in dismissing the top seven Australian batters in quick succession, as they were reduced to 67/7 before being bowled out for a meager score of 91. Jadeja’s figures in the second innings were 2 wickets for 34 runs, thus making it a combined total of 7 wickets for him in the match, as the spin twins wreaked havoc on the Australian team.
