Indian Cricketers And Their Salaries For The Year 2019

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has recently come out with its annual contracted player’s list for the 2018-19 season. Meanwhile, the contracts, which run from October 1, 2018, to September 30, 2019, were approved by the Committee of Administrators (CoA). Rishabh Pant, who had an outstanding time in 2018 making his debut in Test cricket was the most prominent gainer.

Meanwhile, there are four Grades – A+, A, B, and C consisting of 26 players in total. The Grade A+ players will receive Rs 7 crore while A, B, and C will earn Rs 5, 3, and one crore per annum respectively.

GRADE C (Rs 1 crore)

Kedar Jadhav has been a crucial component in the current limited-overs set-up. His lower trajectory off-spin has been handy for the skippers in the middle overs to break partnerships. Besides, he can hit the ball long way in the lower-order, which provides depth to the Indian team.

The all-rounder, thus, finds himself in Grade C, earning Rs 1 crore as salary from BCCI.

Dinesh Karthik has been in the reckoning till now since making his debut in 2004. Although he was out of the team for quite some time, but he floated in and out of the side.

Karthik has been a part of the ODI set up with his batting exploits in the middle order. Playing in only one format, the Tamil Nadu cricketer finds himself in Grade C, earning Rs 1 crore per year.

AMBATI RAYUDU

Ambati Rayudu burst onto the international scene once again after his scintillating performance in IPL 2018. The selectors tipped him as the best choice as the no four batsman but never managed to seal the berth due to inconsistency.

He also failed to make it to the final 15 for the ICC World Cup 2019. However, Rayudu managed to bag a Grade C deal from the BCCI.

MANISH PANDEY

Manish Pandey has lacked consistency and has been in and out of the India squad. A player with a lot of potentials, Pandey has played only 23 ODIs and 28 T20Is. When on song, he is a treat to watch and his ability to play shots all over the park makes him more special.

Despite not a regular, Pandey has been around the squad and thus managed to get a Grade C deal fro the apex body.

KHALEEL AHMED

The left-arm pacer is tipped to be the next big thing in Indian cricket. He has impressed in whatever limited opportunities that have come his way after making his debut last year.

Khaleel is undoubtedly a prized possession for the future, and BCCI recognised his potential and gave him a Grade C contract. The 21-year-old pacer has some good pace and can swing the ball both ways which make him a rare commodity in white ball cricket.

HANUMA VIHARI

Hanuma Vihari made a robust debut against England last year. He continued his stellar form and showed consistency against Australia down under. He also showed grit when the management decided to promote him in the batting order in the third Test.

The Hyderabad-born cricketer thus has earned a Grade C deal of Rs 1 crore as his annual salary. Vihari will look to seal his berth in the Test arena when India play Windies after the World Cup.

WRIDDHIMAN SAHA

The wicket-keeper from Bengal underwent tough times last year as shoulder surgery in May ruled him out of cricket for the whole year. The last time he played for India was in January 2018 against South Africa.

However, Wriddhiman Saha has recovered and played in this year’s IPL for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. The selectors have now named him in the upcoming four-match List A games against Windies. As he looks to reclaim his place in the playing XI, Saha has earned a Grade C contract from BCCI.

GRADE B (Rs 3 crore)

KL Rahul has immense talent on his back, and on his day, he can murder any bowling unit across the globe. The Karnataka cricketer has represented India in all the formats; however, is yet to secure his berth.

As Rahul looks to settle the debate with his position in the playing XI, BCCI has offered him a Grade B contract; thus, earning Rs 3 crore per year as the annual salary.

UMESH YADAV

Umesh Yadav has played for India in all the three formats; however, his fortunes in the limited overs set-up has gradually turned pale. But he is an important stakeholder in the Test setup with his brisk pace and out-swingers.

As Umesh looks to get back his place in the white ball cricket, he has bagged a Grade B contract from the BCCI. As a result, he will be earning Rs 3 crore per annum as his salary.

HARDIK PANDYA

Hardik Pandya is the next big thing in Indian cricket. His ability to contribute in all the departments make him one of the highly-rated all-rounders in world cricket right now.

Pandya has made his debut in all the formats and has made a name for himself in world cricket. The 25-year-old Pandya thus has earned a Grade B contract from the BCCI earning Rs 3 crore per annum.

YUZVENDRA CHAHAL

Yuzvendra Chahal has sealed the spinners spot in the white ball cricket since he made his debut in 2016. The leg-spinner has formed a formidable partnership with Kuldeep Yadav and have played a major role in India’s recent success.

For his exploits in the limited overs cricket, Chahal will get Rs 3 crore as his annual salary from the BCCI. He is in the Grade B category, which has three more players in it.

GRADE A (Rs 5 crore)

RAVICHANDRAN ASHWIN

Ravichandran Ashwin has made significant contributions to Indian cricket with his off-spin. He has played major roles in India’s recent dominance in the Test format.

Ashwin who is only a regular in the red-ball cricket will now earn Rs 5 crore per annum as his annual salary from the BCCI. Besides, Ashwin can also chip in with the bat which provides depth in the batting order.

RAVINDRA JADEJA

The cricketer from Saurashtra is economical and chips in with good scores in the lower-order. Jadeja, therefore, had got a Grade A contract from BCCI which will get him Rs 5 crore as annual remuneration for his service to the country. Jadeja is currently playing in all the formats of the game.

The cricketer from Uttar Pradesh has been key to India’s death bowling alongside Jasprit Bumrah in white ball cricket. For his spectacular efforts for his country since his debut, Bhuvneshwar has earned Rs 5 crore contract from the BCCI which makes him a Grade A cricketer.

CHETESHWAR PUJARA

Pujara, who has 18 centuries and 20 fifties to his name has bagged a Grade A contract from the BCCI which will get him Rs 5 crore per annum as his salary. India will want Pujara more such long innings as they look to bring more laurels in that format.

AJINKYA RAHANE

India’s Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane is a regular in the longer format of the game; however, has not got enough chances in the limited overs format. Rahane is an elegant looking batsman and his personality both on and off the field is very attractive.

The 90 ODI veteran has found himself in the Grade A among several other cricketers. As a result, Rahane will earn Rs 5 crore per annum as remuneration from the BCCI.

MS DHONI

The former India skipper MS Dhoni, has been one of the greatest servants of Indian cricket. Under his leadership, India have won three ICC event, including two World Cups.

The greatest finisher Inda have ever produced, Dhoni has retired from Test cricket and now only plays the limited versions of the game. The Jharkhand-born cricketer, who was once a part of the top grade, has now found himself in the Grade A, thus earning Rs 5 crore as annual salary from the BCCI.

SHIKHAR DHAWAN

MOHAMMED SHAMI

ISHANT SHARMA

With 90 odd Test behind his back, Ishant has earned Grade A contract from the BCCI which will get him Rs 5 crore per annum as his annual salary.

KULDEEP YADAV

RISHABH PANT

Going by the agreement, Bumrah will get Rs 7 crore as his annual salary from the BCCI.
