India’s Test opener KL Rahul and vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane can get their opportunity for the upcoming Australia limited overs series. Meanwhile, India’s limited overs deputy Rohit Sharma who had led in the recently concluded series is expected to get rest to spend more time with his newly born daughter.
In fact, this is India’s last limited overs series before the World Cup. Thus, it is a perfect chance for the team to give more opportunities to its bench strength. KL Rahul isn’t in the best of forms but he scored a good knock of 89 runs against the England Lions in the first unofficial Test match.

Good chance to Test the bench strength.
Furthermore, Ajinkya Rahane who hasn’t received many chances in the white ball format can also be included in the series. As the reports in the Hindu, both of them can make the cut for the upcoming series against Australia.
India will play two T20Is and five One Day Internationals against the Australian side. Thus, it would be the last chance for Indian team management to give opportunities to back-up players.

Rahane has a strike rate issue.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli who was rested from the final two ODIs and the three-match T20I series against New Zealand is expected to get back into the squad.
Furthermore, Jasprit Bumrah who given rest after the grueling the Test match series against Australia will also get back into the squad. However, Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Shami will be rotated to keep them fresh for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019.
On the other hand, Dinesh Karthik and Rishabh Pant can also get their chances in the ODI series against Australia. The first T20I against Australia will take place on February 24. Moreover, the ODI series will begin on 2nd March.
