The flick shot is one of the most potent shots in Indian skipper Virat Kohli’s armoury. Kohli’s wrist work was in action in the first One Day International against Australia. The talisman batsman played a stylish flick shot through the square-leg boundary as he timed the ball to perfection. India’s former skipper Sunil Gavaskar who was in the commentary box was impressed by the classical shot.

Sunil Gavaskar said in commentary box, “CLASS, capital C, capital L, capital A, capital S, capital S. Look at the bottom hand coming into play and the ball has just gone, dismissed from his presence”.

Kohli was looking good.

In fact, we know that Virat Kohli is a strong batsman off his legs. Kohli gets into great positions which helps him playing the ball down the ground. The Indian captain was looking good for his knock of 45 runs off just 46 balls before he was plumbed in front by Australian leg-spinner Adam Zampa.

Meanwhile, Australia posted 236 runs after Aaron Finch won the toss and decided to bat first. Usman Khawaja scored 50 off 76 balls but Australia kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Kuldeep Yadav scalped two wickets each for the India National Cricket Team.

Kohli was dismissed by Zampa.

Glenn Maxwell, who was Australia’s hero in the T20I series was looking good for 40 runs. However, Maxwell was cleaned up by Mohammed Shami with a beauty. Indian bowlers were able to keep a tight grip on the proceedings as they didn’t let the opposition off the hook. Ravindra Jadeja went wicketless but he conceded only 33 runs in his 10 overs quota.

India has currently lost four wickets and has scored 100 runs. On the other hand, Australia had clinched the T20I series by 2-0 after Glenn Maxwell had scored two fine knocks.
