India’s former skipper MS Dhoni evaded the stumping by sticking out his bat. Dhoni shimmied down the track but realized that he was not close to the ball. Subsequently, Dhoni decided to get back into the crease but his bat luckily hit the ball. The talisman batsman was able to get the ball into the gap and ran a single.

In fact, we have seen in the past that Dhoni has advanced down the ground but decided to get back into the crease without trying to go for the shot. Meanwhile, MS Dhoni scored 20 runs from 17 balls in the second T20I against New Zealand to help India level the three-match series.

It was a smart move.

The talisman batsman has returned back to form in 2019. Dhoni had scored three back to back fifties in the three-match series against Australia. He had scored 193 runs in the series and he was also awarded the Man of the series.

Subsequently, he also scored a quickfire knock of 48 runs in the second ODI against New Zealand to help India finish the innings on a high. However, Dhoni had to sit out from third and fourth ODI against New Zealand due to a sore hamstring.

Dhoni’s return to form is a big boost to the team as he is going to be instrumental in India’s success. The talisman batsman has all the experience under his belt and he is going to hold the key in the World Cup event.

On the other hand, India was able to cruise to a comfortable win of seven wickets against New Zealand in the second T20I. Rohit Sharma and Krunal Pandya were the architects of India’s win. Pandya scalped three wickets whereas Rohit Sharma scored 50 runs from 29 balls.

The decider of the series will take place on 10th February.
