The reigning champions Mumbai Indians reserve wicketkeeper, Aditya Tare opened on the batting position of skipper Rohit Sharma.

We have noticed that the flamboyant right-handed batsman has chopped and changed his batting position in the ongoing IPL.

The Mumbai Indians captain had come into bat at the number four position in this season. Men in Blue have already lost five matches out of the six they have played, and thus they lie at the bottom of the points table.

Rohit Sharma led team is in the dire state, and they have a must-win contest against their arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings.

Rohit can bat anywhere in the line-up.

Aditya Tare said while in the pre-match press conference,

“Rohit is a phenomenal player at his place. Even if he bats at the top of the order or the middle order. I think he has got potential and ability to score runs and win games both ways. So, it’s not the first time he has come down the order”.

Tare also gave his opinion on Kieron Pollard’s form. The Windies all-rounder has accumulated only 63 in the five innings. However, it should be noted that Pollard is batting down the order.

“Pollard has come to bat with the least number of balls remaining. He has been one of our key players. I am sure he will deliver. So far it hasn’t happened because the situation hasn’t been ideal for him and he mostly played the death overs. Going forward we will expect so see him score,” said Mumbai’s wicketkeeper-batsman Aditya Tare.

Mumbai Indians will need a miracle to make their way back into the season. The reigning champions have found themselves in the similar positions in the past, and they were able to come up roses. Tare believes all is yet not lost for the three-times champions.

“Nothing’s lost so far. We are still in a situation where things can turn around. With eight more games to go, anything can happen. Mumbai Indians have done that in the past,” Tare added.

Mumbai Indians will have their work cut out in the remaining matches of the season. They have their backs against the wall, and they would have to be on the top of their game.

Rohit Sharma-led team cannot afford any more hiccups in the ongoing season. Reigning champions will take on confident Chennai Super Kings today at latter’s home ground of Pune.
