Now that the Indian Premier League (IPL) Governing Committee with extensive meeting has made the rules pretty clear for the retention players’ policy for the globally acclaimed league in India, the crowd favourite Chennai Super Kings is also making re-entry this time to the eleventh edition of the league.

According to the guidelines, the rule suggested the three players from the hosting country would make into the fold, and Super Kings has had already picked up the ever-reliant Mahendra Singh Dhoni as a skipper, and there are many professionals around who could further be taken into consideration.

To be precise, in the first week of December, 2017, the Governing Council for IPL revealed at least two uncapped players could make it to the fold followed by two overseas cricketers.

It’s pertinent to mention that, CoA has further discussed in detail as eight teams would be making it to the IPL family that further includes Rajasthan Royals which was barred alongside Super Kings in 2015 after spot-fixing rocked Indian cricket.

On the other side, with the maximum five players to be available for the retention the other method to be put into the force is Right to Match option which makes a player available to bid for the same amount.

Interestingly, the Super Kings have missed the ninth and tenth edition of the IPL.

The example could be deemed as if Suresh Raina would not be retained by Super Kings and is bought by any of the other seven teams for a particular or specific price tag, the CSK can claim the Right to Match card – to bring him back into the fold.

Moreover, each team purse for the higher salary would be around INR 80 crore which would extend by INR two crore (82) in 2019 and is bound to hit INR 85 crore in 2020.

The interesting fact to talk about is if a side would retain a solitary player the management is bound to get three RTM cards and two RTM’s would be available when one of the franchises are supposed to pick three players.

While sticking to the criteria, here’s the list of five players Chennai Super Kings could pick for the upcoming IPL edition.

Suresh Raina:

The left-handed batsman Suresh Raina, who was leading the IPL franchise Gujarat Lions, has been the strong force to reckon for Chennai while scoring the bulk of runs for Australia.

With Lions already making its way for Super Kings out, Raina is one of the top contenders to be picked by the IPL franchise.

Faf du Plessis:

Known for playing a significant role for the side while donning the yellow jersey and scoring at pace, Faf du Plessis is expected to be a first-choice for the Chennai.

Du Plessis has left his impact to play an important role for the Super Kings.

Ravichandran Ashwin:

The veteran off-spinner for Chennai is bound to leave his imprint at his home when it comes to the accuracy and guile that too on such surfaces which are often full of runs.

Moreover, the prominent face of Chennai Ashwin is highly-likely going to make his inclusion worth with his remarkable run.

Dwayne Bravo:

The Windies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo might seem to be a questionable pick for the Super Kings, but his involvement with the team in the past has paid rich dividends both with the bat and the ball.

Bravo, who’s played a pivotal role for the IPL outfit could be even a pretty choice after returning from the long-term injury.
