Chennai Super Kings (CSK), until now, almost had the perfect season on their comeback trail, after a two-year long hiatus. The men in yellow covered all their bases this season, barring their death bowling woes.
CSK eventually conceded most number of runs at the death this season when compared to the other teams. This is largely due to the loss of bowling form of Dwayne Bravo.
Bravo has been plundered by batsman during the final overs, where he gained the reputation of being the best death bowler during the by-gone seasons.

Former CSK brand ambassador, Kris Srikkanth suggested the management to have a look at Lungi Ngidi instead of Bravo during the death overs.
“Chennai Super Kings have struggled with their death bowling. Ngidi, in my opinion, is a better option than Bravo at the end. Ngidi’s pace can be unsettling while Bravo becomes a touch predictable towards the final overs,” Kris Srikkanth told TOI.

Srikkanth then lauded the inspirational captaincy of Kane Williamson, who led from the front in the absence of their talismanic skipper David Warner.
“In more ways than one, the league standing is a fair reflection of the men who led the top teams. Kane Williamson with 661 runs at an outstanding average of 60 and striking at 143 per 100 balls, ensured the former champions hardly missed David Warner at the top,” continued the former Indian cricketer.

Kris Srikkanth on MS Dhoni:
The 2018 season of IPL has been a special one for CSK skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni as he found his old self, striking the ball at will., causing panic in the opposition camp.
“Dhoni simply being Dhoni throughout. In a team of massive strikers, the skipper still holds the best strike rate, that by itself explains what he has done,” stated Srikkanth.

Apart from his explosive strike-rate this season, MSD has also been amongst the top run-getters in the tournament.
“An average close to 90 while cracking 446 runs and add those quicksilver stumpings and catches, one cannot propose a better all-round package. Personally, I relished the freedom with which Dhoni started each of his innings,” conclude Kris Srikkanth.
