Chennai Super Kings continued their stunning run in their comeback season with an emphatic 5-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bangalore on Wednesday. Chasing a mammoth 206, Super Kings were reeling at 74 for 4 in the 13th over. However an unbeaten 101-run stand between MS Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu revived the chase. The equation was down to 16 off last over and Dhoni sealed the game with a six on the fourth ball. Earlier, fifties from AB de Villiers and Quinton de Kock had fired Royal Challengers to 205 for 8.

With the game now done and dusted, here is a look at some interesting numbers:

1. Royal Challengers’ score of 205 for 8 made them the first team to post a 200+ total in the IPL after batting two and more maiden overs. The previous highest IPL total to include two and more maidens was 175 for 7 scored by Rajasthan Royals against Delhi Daredevils in 2015.

2. Chennai Super Kings chased down their joint highest score in the IPL. It was also the joint highest for any team against Royal Challengers in the IPL. The Super Kings has chased down 206 after Royal Challengers posted exactly 205 for 8 in 2012.

3. AB de Villiers has now scored nine fifties in the IPL in 25 and fewer balls which are the 2nd most behind David Warner’s 11 fifties.

6.  Ambati Rayudu scored 82 which is his highest individual score in the IPL surpassing his 81*.

7. MS Dhoni scored 70 not out which is his highest in winning cause in the IPL. His previous highest coming in winning cause was 67* against Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2013.
