IPL 2019: Kings XI Punjab Releases Aaron Finch, Yuvraj Singh

Kings XI Punjab comes up with a surprising retention list for the upcoming edition of Indian Premier League (IPL 2019). They have retained their solid performers from the previous season, KL Rahul and Chris Gayle. However, surprisingly, KXIP released stalwart players Yuvraj Singh and Aaron Finch for the new season.

The major surprise on the released player’s list is Axar Patel. He has got retained in the previous year, but the franchise left him out for the upcoming edition. Perhaps, they might want him for the lower price than what they are paying him as of now.

Chris Gayle and David Miller continue their trade:

Meanwhile, the franchise kept their trust on Mayank Agarwal and David Miller, who fared pretty poorly in the previous edition of the IPL. However, surprisingly, they released Manoj Tiwary, who is in brilliant form in the domestic circuit.

The other notable names to be missing from the list are fast bowlers Mohit Sharma and Barinder Sran. Meanwhile, the previous edition was a huge disappointment for Punjab, as far as fast bowling is concerned.

Apart from Andrew Tye, none of them lived up to the expectations thus making things looked bleak. However, KXIP has retained the services of the captain Ravichandran Ashwin.

Ankit Rajput is another youngster, who got the green signal to stay by the franchise. Afghanistan mystery bowler Mujeeb Ur Rahman also remained with the franchise, whereas, Mayank Dagar, the nephew of Sehwag got released from the squad.

Furthermore, Kings XI Punjab has got the services of Mandeep Singh by trading their player Marcus Stoinis with Royal Challengers Bangalore. They have also acquired the services of Mike Hesson by leaving out Virender Sehwag.

All in the all, the squad looks pretty decent for Kings XI Punjab. However, the exclusion of Yuvraj Singh, Axar Patel and Aaron Finch is always a big call, as they got the ability to make the things happen on their day.

RELEASED: Yuvraj Singh, Aaron Finch, Mohit Sharma, Manoj Tiwary, Barinder Sran, Akshdeep Nath, Pradeep Sahoo, Mayank Dagar and Manzoor.
