IPL 2019: Moises Henriques Suffers Injury Scare Moments Before Making his Debut for Kings XI Punjab

Australian all-rounder Moises Henriques has suffered an injury scare moments before making his debut for the Kings XI Punjab in this edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals have won the toss and elected to bowl first. Ajinkya Rahane & Co made three changes going into this game handing the debut cap to Ashton Turner in place of Steven Smith. Stuart Binny and Ish Sodhi also cem into the playing XI. On the other hand, Kings XI Punjab made two changes bringing in David Miller and Arshdeep Singh.

The pitch looks like a heaven for the batsmen, and with both teams boasting some quality hitters, the bowlers will have a tough time. It will be a high scoring belter, and Rajasthan Royals will have an advantage batting second in this pitch with dew settling in.

However, much to the dismay of Kings XI Punjab, their all-rounder Moises Henriques sustained an ankle injury during the practice session ahead of the game. As a result, he misses out on this game even after getting his debut cap from the skipper. It is unfortunate for the Henriques, and a massive blow for Punjab as the Australian all-rounder has the ability to contribute in all the departments.

Moises Henriques has been in good touch playing in Sheffield Shield for the New South Wales. He has contributed with both bat and ball and would have been a huge game-changer for the Kings XI Punjab. The Ravichandran Ashwin-led side has lacked someone who can clear the ropes in the middle-overs and Henriques was the perfect material for that. Besides, he can also chip in with few overs and is also a good fielder which adds value to the team.

However, the magnitude of his injury is still not known, and the physios are having a look at him. Kings XI Punjab will hope Moises Henriques to attain full fitness soon and get back to the field for them.
